Jake McCoy

I am an assistant research professor focusing on reflection gratings among other areas of instrumentation & optics. Having completed my Ph.D. in the McEntaffer Lab in 2021, I primarily work on nanofabrication R&D with an emphasis on electron-beam lithography, physics of theoretical modeling, and UV/x-ray beamline testing for diffraction gratings. I also have experience with electronics work on a scientific sounding rocket payload, including developing and implementing an FPGA-based telemetry interface for space-based data collection. Outside of work, I especially enjoy spending time playing and producing music.
